How to Edit a Board or Project Name and Icon
Learn how to rename and change icons for your boards and projects.

You can edit the name and icon of your boards and projects from their respective dashboard views. This allows you to keep your workspace organized with meaningful names and visual identifiers.
Editing a Board Name and Icon
- Navigate to your boards dashboard (from the sidebar or by going to a project page).
- Find the board you want to edit in the grid of board cards.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the board card.
- Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
- In the edit dialog that opens:
- Change the name: Type a new name in the text field
- Change the icon: Click on the current icon to open the icon selector and choose a new emoji
- Click Save Changes to apply your updates, or Cancel to discard them.
Editing a Project Name and Icon
- Navigate to your projects dashboard (from the sidebar or main dashboard).
- Find the project you want to edit in the grid of project cards.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the project card.
- Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
- In the edit dialog that opens:
- Change the name: Type a new name in the text field
- Change the icon: Click on the current icon to open the icon selector and choose a new emoji
- Click Save Changes to apply your updates, or Cancel to discard them.
Permissions
- Boards: Only board owners and editors can rename boards
- Projects: Only project owners can rename projects
If you don't see the edit option, you may not have the necessary permissions for that board or project.
